A Brief History.

We were formed in 2001 by experienced paranormal investigator, author and TV presenter David Scanlan and rapidly become one of the UK's leading investigation groups, A title we are proud to still have after 8 years of group investigations.

We have visited and investigated numerous sites over the years including Portchester Castle, Levens Hall, Dudley Castle, Wymering Manor, Beaulieu Abbey, Netley Abbey, Michelham Priory, Ancient Ram Inn, Chingle Hall, and many more, there are some sites that we cannot name due to their ownership being in the hands of the Royal Navy and a member of the British Aristocracy.

The Hampshire Ghost Club has also been featured highlighting our work numerous times in the media including Most Haunted, BBC Radio, Net Talk Radio, Power FM, ITV, Meridian, Portsmouth TV, Paranormal Magazine, Beyond Magazine, plus many others.

We are a friendly and dedicated group of individuals and we are always on the look out for new members to compliment our existing team

General : Asst Chief Resigns

Posted by Founder on 28-Aug-2003 21:00 (3150 reads)

As of today, Tony Preston, the assistant chief investigator of the Hampshire Ghost Club tendered his resignation from his position due to increasing restraints on his time.

Tony will be taking on the role of Team Leader for Team Two which will allow him more investigation time and less time spent organising HGC admin work.

I would like to thank Tony for all his hard work in his post for the last two years and I think that moving to a team leader will allow him to expand more.

His replacement is still to be decided.

Thanks Tony

The HGC have today been informed that during the winter months October/November & December the cost per person to investigate Wymering Manor is being dropped.

The cost per person to investigate this fantastic historical house, also the most haunted house in Hampshire, is just £15.00 per person per night, min number of people is 5.

This is a great oppurtunity.

For more info contact the house at portsmouth@yha.org.uk or drop us a line at hampshireghostclub@hotmail.com or call the house on 023 92 375661.

General : County Coucil starting to believe in ghosts!

Posted by Founder on 07-Jul-2003 09:24 (1836 reads)

A city council believes it may have proof that ghosts really do exist after something strange was caught on film at a Victorian museum.
Security cameras in Belgrave Museum in Leicester appear to have captured pictures of ghostly apparitions in the grounds of the museum.

Click Read more for the full story...

Curator Stuart Warburton said: "The security cameras at the back of the hall triggered off one night at about 4.50am, and then suddenly ... two figures appear on the film.

"The camera freezes for about five seconds and then the figures disappear. And then we have a mist that swirls along the top of the wall, which we cannot explain.

"The hall is haunted, there is no question about that," Mr Warburton added.

There have been supernatural sightings here before. The museum gardener, Michael Snuggs, is convinced he has seen a ghost.

"I was standing in the house and from the top of the stairs, this figure appeared and walked down the stairs.

"At the bottom, she looked through the window at the garden, and then just turned and smiled, and walked through to the kitchen," Mr Snuggs said.

Belgrave Hall, a Victorian townhouse, was originally owned by the local MP, John Ellott.

Many believe that one of his daughters is still present here now - as the ghost of Belgrave Hall.

Haunted or not, the security camera footage is now being tested as experts are determined to get to the bottom of this mystery.
