A Brief History.

We were formed in 2001 by experienced paranormal investigator, author and TV presenter David Scanlan and rapidly become one of the UK's leading investigation groups, A title we are proud to still have after 8 years of group investigations.

We have visited and investigated numerous sites over the years including Portchester Castle, Levens Hall, Dudley Castle, Wymering Manor, Beaulieu Abbey, Netley Abbey, Michelham Priory, Ancient Ram Inn, Chingle Hall, and many more, there are some sites that we cannot name due to their ownership being in the hands of the Royal Navy and a member of the British Aristocracy.

The Hampshire Ghost Club has also been featured highlighting our work numerous times in the media including Most Haunted, BBC Radio, Net Talk Radio, Power FM, ITV, Meridian, Portsmouth TV, Paranormal Magazine, Beyond Magazine, plus many others.

We are a friendly and dedicated group of individuals and we are always on the look out for new members to compliment our existing team

So....if your interested in finding out what really happens on a Ghost Hunt why not drop us a line in our forums or via our contact forms enquiring about our membership availability

BURITON MANOR

Hampshire
In 1957 Colonel Bonham-Carter successfully applied for a reduction in the rateable value of this manor because of its ghosts. Nevertheless, the president of the tribunal rightly pointed out that a genuine haunting could be considered of value.

Bramshill House: The oft-told Mistletoe Bough legend is associated with this house - "the most haunted house in Hampshire". I suspect there's no more evidence for it having really happened at Bramshill than many of the other stately homes that claim it ...

General : Latest Investigation News from Wymering Manor

Posted by Founder on 14-Oct-2003 20:14 (1672 reads)

The HGC's latest investigation of Wymering Manor has produced more amazing results. We also have reason to believe that the Manor is haunted by a further four previously unknown ghosts that only made their presence known to us on this investigation. Further work, research and investigation will go into these spectres before we publicly announce their presence at the manor, if they are confirmed Wymering Manor will house a total of 22 seperate ghosts......4 more than England's currently Most Haunted House.

News will posted when the report is online.

Hi,

This months edition of Hampshire Life has just hit the shops and there is an article that heavily features an investigation conducted by the HGC. It makes for an interesting read and there is also a Hampshire Top Ten Haunted locations . . . . . Why don't you find out what the most haunted location in Hants is?

The HGC are out on another investigation tommorrow night so hopefully within the next 3-4 days there will be a new report joining the ever growing collection of the HGC's investigation reports on this site.

Keep your eyes peeled.

Posted by Founder on 03-Oct-2003 21:34 (1776 reads)

After much deliberation and many kind and inspiring comments about the HGC moving to a static site I am pleased to announce that the decision has been brought to leave the site an interactive one.

Many of you seem to enjoy the site the way it is and it is good to hear so many of you find the site's content interesting and informative.

I hope this news pleases

General : Fire explains ghostly guests

Posted by Anonymous on 03-Oct-2003 18:56 (1765 reads)

A COUNTRY gent, his collie dog and a young girl with breathing problems - the sort of occupants you might expect to find in any typical Hampshire cottage.
But these uninvited guests are enough to send a shiver down your spine.
They are ghosts that have been spotted in a converted cottage in the New Forest. Myrtle Cottage, opposite The Green at Old Milton, has every appearance of a des res.
But tenants of the upstairs flat, Liz Kenchington and Matthew Cornwall, have noticed some strange phenomena, and downstairs in the Rayment & Butler estate agency there are apparently other visitors.
A spectral collie dog sits under a particular chair in the office, and at the other end of the room the figure of a man has been seen seated in another chair.

All those of you who live in Hampshire might be interested to know that The Hampshire Ghost Club will be featuring strongly in the October edition of Hampshire Life, a Hampshire based magazine with local news and events.

The article will be covering ghosts and features one of the many ghostly investigation reports produced by the HGC.

I would like to know what you all think about the article and it may give the more novice investigators some interesting information.
