A Brief History.

We were formed in 2001 by experienced paranormal investigator, author and TV presenter David Scanlan and rapidly become one of the UK's leading investigation groups, A title we are proud to still have after 8 years of group investigations.

We have visited and investigated numerous sites over the years including Portchester Castle, Levens Hall, Dudley Castle, Wymering Manor, Beaulieu Abbey, Netley Abbey, Michelham Priory, Ancient Ram Inn, Chingle Hall, and many more, there are some sites that we cannot name due to their ownership being in the hands of the Royal Navy and a member of the British Aristocracy.

The Hampshire Ghost Club has also been featured highlighting our work numerous times in the media including Most Haunted, BBC Radio, Net Talk Radio, Power FM, ITV, Meridian, Portsmouth TV, Paranormal Magazine, Beyond Magazine, plus many others.

We are a friendly and dedicated group of individuals and we are always on the look out for new members to compliment our existing team

So....if your interested in finding out what really happens on a Ghost Hunt why not drop us a line in our forums or via our contact forms enquiring about our membership availability

The ghost of Hampton Court?
By David Harding, Metro
19 December 2003
To the sceptic it may simply look like a fuzzy CCTV image of someone in a long coat walking through a doorway.
Experts say the long-coated figure could be the best proof yet found that things really do go bump in the night... and the day too.

The mystery surfaced two months ago at the 16th-century palace, once home to King Henry VIII.

General : Verdict in Digital Compass

Posted by Founder on 27-Nov-2003 21:54 (1616 reads)

Hi,

A while back we reviewed a new piece of technology on our reviews section of this web site - a Digital Compass

After conducting investigations with this piece of equipment we have decided not to recommend this equipment for the purpose of paranormal investigations.

The compass is very very sensitive and moves every time you try to maintain a straight line when wlaking to obtain a reading.

The backlit display also only stays on for around 8 seconds so it is not long enough to take a continous reading and you have to keep switching it on.

Hope this helps

Regards

Dave

General : New Year's investigations already being planned

Posted by Founder on 13-Nov-2003 22:00 (1709 reads)

The HGC commitee are already in the process of compiling a list of sites, new & old, we will be visiting this coming year.

Our aim is investigate as many sites as possible and then examine the data from each site and compile a list of those sites that are most active.

Our problem is we have experienced paranormal activity from a vast majority of our sites and at the moment, even after 2 years investigating, we cannot close a single case because we have evidence to state that each site we have visited has activity.

Oh well here's looking at the new year.

General : Today's Updates

Posted by Founder on 05-Nov-2003 20:58 (2713 reads)

Hi Everyone,

Tonight I have been hard at work making various updates to the sites.

There is now a new equipment review about the Olympus Pearlcorder J400 Dictaphone and two book reviews.

Many people still ask me about the time I spent working with Most Haunted so I have also written a short article about this in the members stories section on the homepage and also a forum posting.

Comments and questions welcomed as usual.

Regards

D Scanlan

General : NETLEY ABBEY

NETLEY ABBEY
Netley
Hampshire
One of the lesser-known sites under the ownership of the Department of the Environment is Netley Abbey built in the thirteenth century by a group of Cistercian Monks from Beaulieu. Most of the remains were demolished in 1966 but still is surrounded by a wealth of legends and romantic tales of buried treasure, a man dying of fright and the supposed ghost of Florence Nightingale.
