Monkston Manor Miracle
by Angela Monkston

On the fifth of August, 2005, I was taking a train to my auntie's house to stay for a couple of days. It was a cold day, and I had wrapped up warm, wearing a large coat, scarfs, mittons and the like. I was seated by the window, looking out at factories and decreped buildings. The man next to me turned to me and began telling me about himself, his nephew and his problems being a conducor and tone deaf. I pitied him, I really did, but I just had a magnimious urge to peer out the window, so I did.

And thats when I saw it: a large house, beautifully made and designed in the middle of all this decrepidness. There was a sign I could just make out saying, "Monkston Manor," which was amazing because that is my second name, and there was a person who looked like me in the garden, smiling and waving.

A month later, I had bought the house, and now I wave to each train that passes to say thank you for the miracle.

 Re: Monkston Manor Ghost
On the 26th March 1991, I was being driven to my Gran's house to endure some no doubt badly cooked chicken. It was a chilly day, and I'd wrapped-up warm in a sweater she'd knitted for me the Christmas before - I would not be wearing it again. The man driving the car was telling me about his football team, and being Man Utd, I pitied him, I really did. I just had a constant urge to peer out of the window, so I did.

And that's when I saw it; A large house, beautifully made, and seemingly bustling with life. There was a sign I could just make out saying "Pub", which is amazing because that's where my family had spent most of their lives, and there was a person looking through the window how looked a little like me, just a bit happier and swaying more.

A day or so later, I went to the pub, and now I go there far too much, waving to all the cars that pass because I'm drunk and they look funny! Thank you for the miracle of booze!

I`m sorry, although sounds really sweet, you`ve got to count your blessings that you could afford the Manor in the first place, thats what I`ld say is a miracle this day and age!!!
Seriously, though you saw the Manor for sale and you seized the opportunity to buy it, well done for being ambitious.
