each person has there own preferences , where is his nid meter? not sure about the infrared scanner and thermal camera. his bits n bobs more suitable for team rather than one person, as for the many cameras, maybe one or two.

I wouldn't bother with an EMF meter. I would put digital video cameras as top priority - try to cover all areas where there are investigators so that you can see what they see.

I would like a thermal camera...no doubt but aint paying in excess £1000 for one lol

In regards to night vision digital cameras....these are ten a penny these days and investigators everywhere are carrying them but they have not produced any decent evidence from what I have seen so far....although I could be wrong

The EMF meter i think is important just to assess baseline background emission of E.M. and if these could be a contributing factor to sightings. THe NID's....I have seen these act in very strange ways over my time including them activating around an enviromentally controlled environment in apparent relation to direction by a medium. The medium was basically saying..."OK the ghost is standing there"....as I moved towards the medium would say "its moving away now" but when I got to the spot where they had indicated the NID activated....this occured on at least 7 occasions within a few minutes

Infra red might be over the top, but for use for trigger objects or alleged poltergist activity I think its a good idea. Anyhow it seems if you want a new camcorder with IR facitities (built in lamps etc) they arnt made from the main companies I have searched for (well for HD types that is). Thermal would be nice although it looks like you may need to train with it a lot and avoid using it in places with refelctive surfaces everywhere. The time I spent so far, a snappy cam, dictaphone, NID'd and EMF seem alright for small groups. Camcorder is useful if you run it for the session as it is good for write ups. The command center idea is important if there are 5 or more people,(CCTV type night cams) if viewed live and recorded for later analysis. Anyhow just a few thoughts from a trainee :)

The only use I can see for an EMF meter is in comparing haunting hot spots (where stuff is reported) and control areas (where nothing is reported), just to see if there is any persistent difference. Even then, it cannot tell you if there are any EIFs - experience inducing magnetic fields - present that might cause hallucinations. That's because EMF meters are not sensitive enough and don't have a high enough sample rate.

I think NIDs are a complete waste of time. They basically react to any static electricity around and produce spurious readings virtually all the time.

In the case of bnth instruments there is no evidence of any connection between their readings and the appearence of ghosts. I know because I've been searching for such evidence for years.

A thermal imaging camera shows far infrared. It is easy to misinterpret the images it produces as we are not used to seeing at those wavelengths. It's an expensive and not terribly useful toy, in my opinion.
