Hiya Dave, Hi Everybody.

Well theres an interesting thing!
The other day, one of my colleagues at work had to go to Hopfield house and pick up a lady there.

He got talking to her about the history of the place, the murders etc.

She new all about the history and said to him that although she has never seen anything, she had certainly heard things that she cant explain, even recently.
So perhaps the Hopfield hauntings continue...

Regards,

PaulF.

I found this place a few years back now, and upon initial viewing it took my breath away I definitely felt that there was something bad about the place.

Over the last year or so it has had a paint job and some of the windows have been repaired, so it doesn't appear as bad any more, however I still sense something not right with the place.

Not knowing anyone who lives there, I've never been inside. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not, but if anyone's going up and wants someone to go with give me a shout.

About time they did something with it...its a piece of history and to all intense and purposes they let it go to rack and ruin

I agree. The first time that I saw the place it had boarded up windows, or those that weren't were smashed. The paint work was cracking and the garden overgrown.

I believe the place is flats now?

I haven't been past in a while, although I live fairly near.

I agree. There's no real way to find out nowadays which is a shame as it is a fascinating place.

It could have been Waterlooville's answer to Wymering Manor lol! (Although it sounds nastier given the stories that I've read).

Very true

If the occurences there were enhanced by non family members living there imagine what the ghost may think now that he has loads of people not related to his family living there and that his beloved house has been carved up into seperate flats

This house in Maralyn Avenue, Waterlooville appears in 2 books I have, the Haunted Places of Hampshire by Ian Fox and Ghosts of Great Britain by Jonathan Sutherland. I had been fascinated by the story of this house and now live quite near to it, but have not been able to visit yet. The tenants seem not to welcome publicity in the books, possibly due to resell problems with the flats. But I do believe that there will still be something wrong about that house. Just the photo in the book is enough to give you the creeps!

My wife is psychic and some time ago I was driving around the area and just decided to pass Hopfield just to see if she would comment on it

She had no idea about the house nor its history and as we drove past she said straight away that she didnt like the house and felt that evil had happend there....she did not like it at all and asked me to speed up to pass it

Strange eh

Dave

Just stumbled across this site/topic and wanted to say that I lived in Hopfield for several years until about 17 years ago. I can tell you about the many and varied goings on there but not tonight as it could take a lot of telling!

I lived in Flat 1 which is the semi basement flat on the front & left side on the house if looking at it from the road in front.

My neighbours at the time shared their experiences with me at the time and I have to say it was one of the most memorable of places that I have ever lived in.

I will come back and add my accounts when I have time!
